Upcoming Games and Stuff

Journal Entry: Mon Mar 18, 2013, 10:58 PM

Short and quick.

Monster Hunter 3: blarg. Tried the demo on the 3DS (no WiiU). Sorry guys, I just don't get it. I couldn't figure out how to kill anything and after dying repeatedly to the first polar bear thing I deleted the demo. I'm sure there's fans, but I've no idea how the multi-player works, and reading forums to snag friend codes hasn't worked so far for any games I've played.

SMT: Soul Hackers: Interesting idea, but I haven't beaten Persona 1 yet, so this will sit on the shelf for a long time. Going to pick up for the 3DS 16 April 2013.
But I bet the sound track will be good.

Enjoyed playing the first few missions of Code of Princess and Fire Emblem on the 3DS XL. I turned off the 3d except for the cut scenes, and both are very solid games. Picked up Etrian Odyssey 4, and I really like the sound track it came with. I haven't figured out how to play the game yet, and will probably be a late in the year title to play.

I play games realllly slow. About a couple of months per game is about right. I have to be in the right mood to play, but fortunately portable systems seem to provide the pick up and play for a few minutes availability that I can stand.

Work is pretty tiring, but it doesn't suck and the work place is nice. I generally like the people and the pay is alright. Been working here in Cheyenne since last June, and I like the place. I'm not really bothered by the fact that so many people want out of this town and move to a larger city, as I'm enjoying the low traffic and general away from it all location. Plus, Ft. Collins is nearby and has more things to do and isn't too far to drive in the summer.

i understand bro... some ppl have it and others dont..

sometimes ppl arent made for extended battles and intensive predicting that monster hunter challenges us to be able to do swiftly and fluidly witht he crap controls the 3ds provides. that is why im getting it for the wii u and buying a controller...

the psp controls were perfect and i wish they could mimic the psp controls. i played the demo too on the 3ds at walmart. and wow... i feel you there bro. the controls were hard. i wish you could have followed us from the psp or computer game. monster hunter has been sporadic with us recently. in the first game there were over 300 weapons with 5 classes. next game came it gave us a new class (dual swords) and then monster hunter freedom 2 came out.. (hoollly shet) 9 classes with a but load inventory upgrade since there are so many items and armour and weapons.

then MHtri came out for wii and they dumb-ed it down to 6-ish again and then this game.. i was looking foward to it but the limitations the 3ds gave me were crude and unbalanced... and they also gave us the ultimate sin. (underwater combat) *sigh* another factor to over complicate the schematics of the controls... im not professional but i loved killing a drag that took more than 30 seconds to kill (skyrim reference).

you feel so bad ass after you killed your first Yian Kut-ku.. aww that thing is so adorable now... i miss the days when a game is new and the world is fresh and ready for you to explore it.... very much like the first time playing pokemon... good ol days...

This unplanned and random rant is to say im sorry you dont favor monster hunter. this current game is a bad start to this awesome series (especially for the 3ds). this is much like starting the pokemon series on black and white, compared to starting on pokemon yellow or silver/gold (or even ruby/saphire)

I hope it works out for you. In japan they have the 3ds xl dual stick addon. It supposedly works specifically for monster hunter. alas the jpns get it long before we do, which sucks because it just might help sell the game.

Don't worry, I'm sure the wiiu version will be better. Heck, its just me having never played the game and with no one to play with. So I don't think that I'm the target audience.

lol! 4 years playing by myself just to have my brother play with me for 6 months and now im back to myself again.. -___-

but there was the 247 hours on the wii monster hunter i played online. best 247 hours of gaming for me... (other than COD 4 and Halo 3). online for monster hunter was like The first kingdom hearts with multiplayer (point being it never happened before)

haha. well what other games do you have in mind? im actually looking for one on psp, Wii, DS, and 360, since all the ones i have are beaten or no longer entertaining... i actually pulled out my Gameboy Color to play pokemon silver since i was so bored at one point.
