Looking for good upper mid range artists

Journal Entry: Thu Aug 23, 2012, 7:35 PM

I'm currently looking for artists to fill the $40 to $60 range for commissions. I've not had much luck with this price range as so many artists that charge this amount are either flaky, hard to get a hold of, and/or simply have infrequent commission slots. I'm open to suggestions to bridge the gap between the $20 to $35 range and the $80 - $120 range.

Note: please only recommend artists that actually do commissions, and not those artists that hold contests/tricks/auctions to get a slot.

My pony plush commissions are a little more pricey than that, but if you're interested here's a link~

I've been considering doing one. How insane would doing my Sage be? How would you do the markings and cutie mark?

I'd probably have to sew on each marking as I go along. It'd be much more expensive than your average pegasus, due to how long that'd take @_@ but it would look better than just straight up fabric painting them. I'd also do the cutie marks the same way, since they're the same color, and it'd look better too. Speaking of paint, I would probably use that for the wing tips, though watered down to achieve the gradient. I've seen acrylic work surprisingly well with it, so I'd probably go with that rather than fabric paint. Eyes would be iron-ons as per usual.

So yeah, I think she's quite do-able uwu
As far as prices are concerned, one with folded wings I'd price at $155. With unfolded, I'd probably tack on an extra $16 instead of my normal $10, since I would have to go buy paint. Shipping would be $15 for either~
