10 Reasons to Oppose FeminismI encourage you visit Just Smith on his site because he has a bunch of citations which I was unable to copy. http://just-smith.tumblr.com/post/14936172756/ten-reasons-to-oppose-feminismReason 1: Some feminists advocate the systematic murder, castration or destruction of men, and more moderate and less bigoted portions of the movement ignore, tolerate and refuse to speak out against these bigots.Reason 2: Feminist advocates throughout the history of the movement have marginalized women of color, transwomen, poor women and many other types of women. While this is less common now, it still takes place and is unacceptable in a movement supposedly dedicated to equality.Reason 3: Feminist academics have been proven to use poor research practices, purposely distorting data to meet ideological ends. By ignoring the sanctity of academic study, they have not only cast doubt on legitimate research but also dishonored their obligations as scientists.Reason 4: Feminist advocates hav
Questions for 'feminists'It's been a while since I stopped identifying as a feminist. What I perceived as disagreements with the mainstream in some issues have since inflated into irreconcilable differences in core ideology. As I say this I can already hear the cliché'd response, as if what I'm saying is some exotic fact no one's ever experienced and I'm unique in my stance.I have to spell it out. Among other things, I've seen feminist organisations and communities involve engage in stuff like:• Blatant misrepresentation and stereotyping of men, such as claiming they are somehow inherently prone to violence (sexual or otherwise) towards other men, women, or children.• Additional stereotyping of ethnic minorities, such as casting off black people as "criminals", Arabs as "misogynists", and so on.• Extremely sex-negative rhetoric against pornography, porn actors, casual sex, sexual preferences, fetishes, BDSM, and in some cases heterosexuality and heterosexual sex.• Denying certain races of people the right
About digital paintingHey guys, lately I had received a lot questions from people that are wanting to start doing digital art, and want to know about how one can start doing digital paint. Now I'm not very good with words, however I can show you several videos that I hope people will find useful. One thing in particular that I recently found to be extremely useful and inspirational was this video where the artist comments very thoroughly about how to paint digitally, especially how to paint light, cause painting light is one of my biggest things for digital art.I had also get asked a lot about doing videos that show my process at drawing. So here I have three videos of me drawing several different pictures.I also have a livestream channel, and I have here several videos of me drawing even more different artworks which you can find right below where the video screen is. And I may have time for doing a livestream session tomorrow if everthing goes alright, so I
TGWTG, the Spoony One, and Lupa...People think that my opinion may not matter. That I am nobody. Well, that won't stop me from voicing my opinion. Just because I'm not famous on the internet, doesn't mean that my opinion means any less than someone who is well known on the internet.ON WITH THE NOVEL!When I read about the controversy surrounding Noah Antwiler and ThatGuyWiththeGlasses.com, I have to say, I am seriously disgusted with the actions of the members of this website. I am disgusted as a woman, a fan, a viewer, and fellow Opinionated Jackass...which was my nickname before I became the Angry Engineer in the Navy. Needless to say, the actions of those involved are most disappointing. Many of the members of TGWTG website are about my age, and I have witnessed idiocy on some seriously ignorant levels, but when you are voluntarily stepping forward to be a 30+ year old idiot on the internet, you are just asking to be discredited.Granted, many of them started out as fledgling reviewers with no allied goal other tha
Don't Get DiscouragedLast night on Twitter, one of the people I follow got super-discouraged about drawing and doing comics. Well, everyone, knock it off and here's why:Don't be discouraged by the works of other artists. I know that it's really easy to be! Usually it is because you are comparing your abilities to someone who has likely had many more years of practice and learning than you have. Of course that's going to be discouraging! Use their art and technique as inspiration for your own work! Feed off of it like a cicada on a tree root; learn and grow from their work and improve yourself!Don't stop drawing. It's easy to say 'welp, eff this noise' when you find someone who draws better than you; but that's just not how to do things. If you stop after you get discouraged, you'll never practice and then you'll never improve and you'll always be at the same skill level. Don't say "I'll never be able to draw like that". Instead, say "I'll learn how to draw like that"! Then you go do it.Don't worry about
Experiment Part 1: Training Your EyeSo my buddy *karuvan is trying to learn how to draw properly. He's been on a roll as far as progressing. But he's stuck at a standstill. This is an experiment that I've done with him and that he's working on in order to train his eye. I decided to share the conversation and experiment with you guys for you all to apply to your study habits and advancement in drawing and art.Read on!__________________________________________Karuvan: I randomly drew over my old pic. Ain't gonna do it over, was just curious on how much I could have done better.Robaato: Quick question... like... who's work at this point do you really want yours to be close to? I'm tryna gauge what level you're trying to achieve.K: lol... Joel is becoming a huge influence.R: Ok. I have a test for you.K: Ok.R: I want you to replicate this picture exactly as it is to the best of your ability:
Resourceful study.Since I will be tied up with school......I thought I'd compile a collection of the reference/study materials that I use and recommend to others. I will update the list from time to time (as I discover new things). These resources are relevant for both digital and traditional mediums as well as technique and philosophy.BooksBridgman's Complete Guide to Drawing from Life by George BridgmanEven if you don't draw people, I still recommend this book... as it teaches "blocking-in"/gestures. Copy the drawings/sketches from the book to help yourself build good habits. The Zen of Seeing by Frederick FranckLearn to see and you will learn to drawthis book explains how to see (with a more subjective approach). Drawing on the Right Side of the Brain by Betty EdwardsA great reference for anyone who can't shut their brain (and
How to gain popularityI've had various people ask me what they can do to get noticed on DA so I'll write a little journal about my experience with various methods of getting your stuff out there.I am not at all claiming to be popular myself, I'm just providing feedback.1. USE GROUPSSeriously people. It's probably one of THE best ways to get exposure. There are so many groups too! You will always be able to find one that is suited to your art.Groups are effective because it gets your artwork exposed to a new batch of watchers (the people who watch the group) besides your own. Try to join groups with lots of members and watchers, as these will give you the most views.A really great group to gain exposure from is :icongetwatchers:2. USE THE THUMBSHARE FORUM AND CHATLots of people go to the thumbshare forum and the thumbchat to find new artists to watch and to share their works. These are great places to meet new people and aquire feedback on your deviatio

My Little DashieOk, don't worry yourselves everyone. This is not a drill. Due to Deviant Art's word cap, I realized a bunch of edits going into my story have not been getting updated. So, I made a Google Doc which you can follow here https://docs.google.com/document/d/1NwdIJMALxxi6egHz832IuNIHy1J7JAqulJFoGeLM5tY/edit?hl=en_US or an actual hyperlinky thingy below in the description. I was gonna just delete this and re-post something about it, but with so many of you commenting I was just overcome by your words. So, I wanted to keep them so that I can remember you all! Thanks! Also, for additional fan work (art, writings, etc) check out my favorite gallery ca
